DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) chairman Jesus Dureza is set to reliquish his post to former three-term South Cotabato congresswoman Lualhati Antonino.

As MinDA chairman, Dureza is supposed to have a fixed six-year term after the agency was established last Feb. 17 by virtue of Republic Act 9996.

The MinDA head has a Cabinet rank, representing the various economic and development agencies in the South.

Antonino’s appointment was announced yesterday by former senator Manuel Roxas II, who represented President Aquino during the opening of the 12th Tuna Congress in General Santos City.
