5 killed, 6 injured in Agusan truck accident

BUTUAN CITY , Philippines  – At least five persons were killed while six others were critically wounded after a logging and mining cargo truck (Saddam type) turned turtle into a river in Sitio Masapla, Barangay Wasian, Rosario, Agusan del Sur almost noon Sunday, belated report reaching this region’s capital said.

The Agusan del Sur Provincial Police Office report to Caraga Police Regional Information Office identified the casualties who died on the spot as Justin Caballes, Glen Morales and Marlon Gabato.

Identities of the two other casualties who died in the hospital while undergoing treatment are still unknown as of press time.

Wounded victims were identified as driver of the cargo truck, Gerry Bebis, passengers Roy Novo, Rudy Cullantes, Florencio Moran, Noel Baguio and Joel Bello who are all freelance contractual workers of logging and mining activities in the area.  – Ben Serrano
