Sacked bus conductor holds 5 hostage

MANILA, Philippines - A terminated bus conductor was arrested after holding his former five co-employees hostage for over three hours in Ilo-ilo City the other day.

Police said the suspect, Marlon Inanoria, 33, yielded peacefully to policemen after taking Ludivina Guerra, ticketing teller Mary Rose Quinsel, tabulator Eva Biera, supervisor Allen Beraguas, and Lina Celiz as hostages.

Superintendent Ranulfo Demiar, spokesman of the Western Visayas police, said Inanoria was armed with a caliber .38 revolver, a 20-gauge shotgun and a fan knife during the hostage-taking. – Cecille Suerte Felipe
