Gift giving benefits rural folk

-

DINGALAN, Aurora, Philippines – Some 5,000 families from depressed communities in this seaside town were the latest beneficiaries of the gift giving project of a pro-poor religious organization.

The Holy Place Pentecost Church Tabernacle, Inc., led by its president, Ruth Sanchez and son, Marcus Anthonius Sanchez, led the distribution of bags of goodies to local folk at the launch of its “Operation Tulungan” at the municipal plaza recently. She was accompanied by Aurora Gov. Bellaflor Angara-Castillo, House Deputy Majority Leader Juan Edgardo Angara, Mayor Zenaida Padiernos, Council Ferdinand Pronto and local officials.

In her speech marking the launching ceremonies, Sanchez exhorted the people to remain steadfast in their faith in God. She said Dingalan, if properly preserved and protected, has the potentials to develop and become a city in the future, given the various development programs of the Angaras, citing the fish port and ro-ro port.

She said that with development, jobs would be generated for the people of Dingalan.   – Manny Galvez
