ZAMBOANGA CITY – Abu Sayyaf bandits abducted two female cosmetics sales representatives in a village in Parang, Sulu last Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The victims, believed to be mother and daughter, were seized in Barangay Kahoy Sinah, Parang town by an Abu Sayyaf group headed by Albader Parad, Presidential Assistant for Sulu Amilbahar Amilasan said.
Superintendent Julasirim Kasim, Sulu police director, confirmed the abduction.
Kasim said the bandits fled toward Sitio Subah Timahoh, Barangay Sionugan in Indanan town where the victims are believed being kept.
He said they have yet to identify the victims since they were not known in the area.
He said Parad’s followers used to camp out in Maimbung town but were driven away by the police and found their way in Parang town.
It was in Indanan town where suspected Abu Sayyaf bandits held ABS-CBN news anchor Ces Drilon, her two cameramen and Mindanao State University professor Octavio Dinampo hostage last month.
Kasim advised traveling merchants to coordinate with the Sulu police, so they would not fall victim to Abu Sayyaf kidnappers.
