BI arrests American pedophile

The Bureau of Immigration has recently arrested an American pedophile, wanted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the United States for molesting a child and engaging in child pornography.

Members of the immigration bureau’s law enforcement division arrested Frederick Louis Dipasquale, 68, who was picked up on Thursday at his residence located along Saint Joseph Street, Doña Pilar, Sasa, Davao City, upon orders by Immigration Commissioner Marcelino Libanan.

Dipasquale was later brought to Manila and is currently detained at the Bicutan immigration jail pending deportation proceedings.

Libanan issued the mission order for the American’s arrest at the request of the US Embassy in Manila which sought the bureau’s help in locating and arresting the fugitive.

“We will deport him to the US as soon as our board of commissioners issues the order for his summary deportation,” Libanan said.

Libanan also ordered the blacklisting of the American and banning him from re-entering the country for being an undesirable alien.

According to Lawyer Floro Balato, BI spokesman, Dipasquale has been overstaying in the Philippines.

He arrived in May 2005 and was admitted as a tourist for a period of only 21 days.

“He never left the country ever since and did not bother to apply for an extension of his stay.  – Sandy Araneta
