ZAMBOANGA CITY – Suspected Abu Sayyaf men shot dead a Coast Guard officer and his wife and fled with the victims’ motorcycle in downtown Jolo in Sulu yesterday.
Police said Petty Officer 3 Haide Charlie Abria, 39, and his wife, Ferdilina, 33, were ambushed on Gen. Arolas street.
Pursuing lawmen briefly shot it out with the attackers, and later recovered the motorcycle. – Roel Pareño
