Meat traders gunned down in Laguna

Camp Vicente Lim, Laguna – Two traders were shot dead by at least seven unidentified assailants while inside the public market in Binan, Laguna early Friday morning, police said

Senior Superintendent Felipe Rojas Jr. Laguna police director identified the victims as Henry Agustin, 55, and Enrico Tierro, 34, both meat traders and residents of Segunda Village, Barangay Platero, Binan, Laguna.

According to reports, the victims were busy fixing their meat products at their respective stalls in Biñan Public Market when two armed men with a .45 caliber  pistol approached from behind and shot them several times at around 2:15 a.m.

After the shooting, the suspects escaped aboard a red motorcycle and sped toward an unknown direction, with five more suspects who acted as lookouts, tailing them.

Other vendors at the public market rushed the victims to the Binan Doctors Hospital and Perpetual Help Hospital for treatment but they were pronounced dead upon arrival by the attending doctors after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds in their head and body.

Police recovered four spent shells of a .45 caliber  pistols from the crime scene and one live ammunition of the same caliber.

Police have yet to determine the motive of the killing.      – Arnell Ozaeta
