Bataan bank loses P1.3 M to robbers

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Four armed men held up a bank in Orion, Bataan Monday, carting away about P1.3 million in cash in the five-minute heist, police said.

In a report, Senior Superintendent Odelon Ramoneda, Bataan police director, said the robbers struck at the Bataan Development Bank in Barangay Lati, Orion town at around 10 a.m.

Ramoneda said the robbers disarmed the bank’s lone security guard, Armando Lacerna, and then poked caliber .45 pistols at the tellers.

Ramoneda fled in a vehicle parked some 50 meters away from the bank after taking the cash from the bank’s safety vault, where they had locked up all the employees. – Ric Sapnu, Raffy Viray
