COTABATO CITY – Police filed charges the other day against a member of the religious group Jesus is Lord Movement who owned up to last week’s killing of his minister.
The suspect, Ronnie Arong, told reporters that he decided to give himself up after being hounded by “bad dreams” of how he stabbed JIL preacher Martin Ambong 16 times in the latter’s house in Kidapawan City last Oct. 26.
Ambong’s body was discovered by his wife in the living room the following day.
Arong said Ambong was alone in his house when he attacked him with a kitchen knife.
“I cannot explain why I went crazy that time. I was not able to control my rage. There was nothing between me and him (Ambong),” Arong said in the Cebuano dialect. – John Unson
