2 US naval ships dock at Subic

SUBIC BAY FREEPORT- Two US warship are here to take part in the annual joint military exercises between the United States and the Philippines within the next two weeks.

The USS Juneau, an Austin-class amphibious transport ship and USS Tortuga, based in Japan docked at Alava Pier, Subic yesterday afternoon.

The two ships will participate in the Talon Vision and Amphibious Landing Exercises Fiscal Year 2008 military exercises to improve the interoperability between US Forces and the Armed Forces of the Philippines as well as increase readiness and strengthen the professional relationship of the two countries.

Aside from the two ships, the USS Essex aircraft carrier is also expected to arrive on October 28 for the annual war games.
