War against illegal drugs up in Central Luzon

-

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – Police Regional Office (PRO3) authorities yesterday waged war against illegal drugs and ordered all police units in Central Luzon to step-up its operation against suspected drug traffickers.

“I want to dismantle all known layers of the illegal drug trade to attain my vision of a drug-free Central Luzon,” said Chief Superintendent Errol Pan, PRO3 director.

Pan said for the past weeks, numerous drug personalities, particularly those engaged in street pushing, were nabbed during saturation drives at suspected drug lairs in Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, Bataan, Aurora and Zambales.

He said he has directed the regional anti-illegal rugs office task force (RAIDSOTF) under PRO3 deputy police director for administration, Senior Superintendent Alfredo Caballes to carry out his instructions to all police directors in the region.

All provincial anti-illegal drugs office task force should double their efforts in combating the menace of drugs in the locality, said Pan.

But, he said, all police operations against illegal drugs should have a close coordination with their counterparts at the office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to avoid unnecessary overlapping of functions.

Caballes said his office is now updating their list of suspected drug personalities in Central Luzon for future reference.

He said the main thrust of their operation now is to locate and dismantle the local distribution of illegal drugs particularly “shabu”.

“If we could get them at the streets we will be able to accomplish our mission,” said Caballes.              – Ric Sapnu
