'The State of the Nation is strong.'
This was how President Gloria Arroyo concluded her State of the Nation Address on Monday, getting a standing ovation as she declared her promise to push the government's programs.
She said it was her ardent wish that her programs will completed and added that she hoped her successor would have an easier time than she did.
She likewise said, "I will not be a hindrance to anybody's ambition."
However, she added that she will not stand by to those who will act contrary to the country's progress.
"The president is as strong as she wants it to be," she declared, getting a standing ovation from the audience.
