7 hurt in Agusan  road mishap

BUTUAN CITY – Seven persons were seriously injured in a road accident along the national highway in Sta. Ana, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte, a belated report said.

Sketchy reports reaching the Caraga Police Regional Office at Camp Rafael C. Rodriguez here said  an Isuzu pickup bumped a tricycle at around 6 a.m. last Friday.

Police said they are still investigating the cause of the accident and the two vehicles’ route when the incident took place.

Report reaching Chief Superintendent Antonio Nanas, Caraga police regional director, said the seven injured passengers, including the tricycle driver, were immediately brought to Nasipit District Hospital and Butuan Provincial Hospital for medical treatment.

They were identified as Annabelle Dunahan, 30; Joey Taudtod, 26; Jessabelle Yongsong, 19; Janeth Bacampa, 17; Larry Jason Abao, 19; Apolonio Salga, 18; and Rufino Loong, the tricycle driver.

 The Isuzu pickup driver, identified as Ariel Rupio, is temporarily detained at the Nasipit Police Station while investigation is still going on, Senior Inspector Nelly Tabornal-Villagarcia, regional police spokeswoman, said.
