CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Two other members of a kidnap-for-ransom (KFR) gang behind the abduction of a scion of a wealthy Laguna clan were arrested in Quezon last Friday afternoon, police said.
Senior Superintendent James Brillantes, chief of the Regional Special Operations Group, said suspects July Peneverde and Rolando Alarma were nabbed by his men led by his deputy, Superintendent David Alauigan, in Barangay Liabac, Real town.
The two were among the seven members of the so-called “Lagalag Gang” who managed to flee when kidnap victim Gina Brosas, 32, was rescued during a botched payoff in Nagcarlan town last Thursday.
Killed during the rescue were suspected KFR gang leader Jacinto Peneverde and Rolando Lubi. – Ed Amoroso, Arnell Ozaeta
