Army raids NPA training camp in S. Kudarat

Koronadal City Army ground forces under the 1002nd Infantry Brigade invaded the biggest training camp of the New Peoples Army (NPA) over the weekend in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat. Lt. Colonel Vicente Porto, commanding-officer of the 1002nd Infantry Brigade based in Malungon, Sarangani, said the troops of the 27th infantry battalion were able to overrun the training camp of the NPAs Far South Mindanao Region in the hinterland part of Sitio Lahak, Barangay Sinapulan in Columbio town.
Porto said the rebels probably detected their operation after the Fridays encounter with the elements of the 27th IB in Barangay Datal Blao of the said town that resulted to the deaths of the three high-ranking NPA rebels. Ramil Bajo
