The dismissal papers of Maj. Ferdinand Ramos, a member of Philippine Military Academy Class 1988, are now under review in the office of Armed Forces chief Gen. Generoso Senga.
Sources said once the papers are approved, these will go straight to the office of Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz for endorsement to and subsequent approval of President Arroyo.
Ramos, relieved public relations officer of the Army’s Light Armor Brigade in Capas, Tarlac, was placed under investigation last year following accusations that he sexually molested a male applicant in exchange for the latter’s entry into the Army.
According to sources, the Army’s Efficiency and Separation Board (ESB), which looked into the matter, reportedly found Ramos guilty of the accusations.
Among the pieces of evidence, which the ESB reviewed, was a videotape of Ramos allegedly kissing the lips and touching the private parts of the Army applicant.
The applicant later surfaced after Ramos supposedly failed to fulfill his promise to facilitate the former’s entry into the Army.
Ramos’ alleged sexual misconduct was exposed in the GMA-7 public affairs program Imbestigator hosted by Mike Enriquez.
