Briton tagged in Boracay slays nabbed

A British national implicated in the May 2, 2004 killing of three European nationals and a Filipina in Boracay was arrested last week, the Bureau of Immigration said.

Keith Redfern, one of the three foreign suspects in the massacre, was arrested last Sept. 8 in Boracay by the bureau’s intelligence agents.

The other two suspects are Uwe Friesl, a German, and Patrick Higgs, another British national.

Immigration Commissioner Alipio Fernandez Jr. said his men did not initially realize that they had arrested a suspect in the Boracay murders until they checked their records.

Fernandez said Redfern was arrested based on the complaint of his estranged wife, Sharon Mangguera, who accused him of trying to burn their house in Boracay last April 27.
