P1-M reward offered for info on mayors slay

STA. ROSA CITY, Laguna The city government has allocated a P1-million reward to anyone who could provide information on the killers of former Mayor Leon Arcillas.
The city council approved the cash reward, embodied in a resolution sponsored by councilor Artemio Gomez, to speed up the resolution of the May 10 killing.
Arcillas, although surrounded by his security escorts, was fatally shot by at least three men along the hallway of the second floor of the Sta. Rosa City Hall shortly after he officiated the wedding of 11 couples.
One of his escorts, PO3 Erwin Rivera, was also killed, while another bodyguard, PO2 Alfredo Almendraz, was wounded.
Although the police have come up with the artists sketches of Arcillas killers, nobody has yet been identified and arrested. Rene Alviar
