Senior Superintendent Roberto Rosales, Cavite police director, said security guard Juan Soriano, an Imus resident, was shot while he was escorting the Metrobank personnel.
Investigation showed that four of the robbers managed to enter Gate 3 of the Yasaki-Torres plant by following an employee while their cohorts handcuffed the guards posted at the gate.
Armed with short firearms, the robbers proceeded to the ATM booth located some 350 meters away from the gate, and there shot Soriano and took the still undetermined cash from the Metrobank employees.
Police said the robbers fled on board motorcycles toward the Aguinaldo Highway.
Rosales said probers were eyeing an inside job since the robbers apparently knew when the banks armored van was scheduled to arrive to replenish cash in the ATM which the Yasaki-Torres employees use.
"We are trying to ascertain which group was behind the robbery. At present, we are closely coordinating with the management of Yasaki-Torres to get more information," Rosales told The STAR.
"We are appealing to (those) who could have seen the robbers to help us establish their identities for their immediate arrest and prosecution," he added.
