KORONADAL CITY Army troops in Sultan Kudarat have condemned the attack on an army detachment and the burning of 19 houses in three barangays in Maguindanao province, allegedly by some 100 members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
In a two-page complaint sent to the Coordinating Committee on Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH), Col. Jerry Jalandoni, deputy commander of the 604th Brigade based in Barangay Kalandagan in Tacurong City, said that the attack was a "blatant violation" of the ceasefire agreement.
Jalandoni, who will soon assume the position of commanding-general of the 604th Brigade, stated in the letter that on June 10, more that 100 MILF rebels led by Commanders Madekay Kamid, Abdul Wahid and Talio Silongan, all of the Batallion command of the Bangsa Moro Islamic Armed Forces (BIF), raided Barangays Makadayon and Nonangan of Talitay town and Barangay Linamonan of Talayan town.
"These atrocities must be stopped. The committee should impose sanctions against the MILF," he stressed. Ramil Bajo
