The Punta Princesa policemen were hunting down Ricky Cadavero, 26, after he robbed the Ubas mini-mart in F. Llamas Street. But the authorities got waylaid by the suspect about 200 meters away from the crime scene.
However, one Giovannie Canseco observed that his was dog incessantly barking at an empty and unused refrigerator outside his house. Canseco reported the incident to the police and when they opened the refrigerator, they found Cadavero inside. He surrendered to the cops without resistance.
PO2 Jerome Java said that the cashier on duty at the Ubas mini-mart pointed to Cadavero as the one who held her up at gunpoint and fled with P3,800 cash.
Cadaveros arrest also led to his identification as the suspect of two other store robberies one in the same barangay last Dec. 23 and another one in Barangay Labangon a week ago. Freeman News Service
