3 named as possible NV top cop

-
BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya — Three police colonels have been nominated to take over the province’s top police post to be vacated by Senior Superintendent Jesus Manubay, whose relief takes effect Dec. 9.

Manubay’s relief came amid reports that the illegal numbers game jueteng has persisted in the province. Bayombong Bishop Ramon Villena himself had lobbied for Manubay’s ouster.

Manubay, however, said his command has done everything to go after the people behind the "guerrilla-type" jueteng operations.

Chief Superintendent Jefferson Soriano, Cagayan Valley police director, has nominated Senior Superintendents Henry Teaño and Felix Caddali Jr., who both hail from Cagayan, and Amador Pabustan to replace Manubay. — Charlie Lagasca
