Morong Mayor Burt Linao told The STAR that the town is preparing the documents needed for submission to Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) which will finance the multimillion-peso project.
Linao explained the new mall will include 17 stalls, an amusement park and offices. It is expected to generate much-needed revenues for the municipality.
Morong, once the home of thousands of Indo-Chinese refugees, derives its income from the P25 million internal revenue allotment (IRA), from the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), and from realty, business and other taxes.
The site of the proposed transport mall is the 5,000-sq.m. public market site in Barangay Binaritan.
Linao has also announced the improvement of three farm-to-market roads in this town the four-kilometer road in Sitio Tayaong, the one-kilometer road in Sitio Bernabe and the two-kilometer road in Sitio Tima in Barangay Mabayo.
The mayo said the improvement will facilitate the transport of agricultural products to the market faster and at a lower cost for farmers.
