Chavit a convenient target for alleged pro-Estrada group

Former Ilocos Sur governor Luis "Chavit" Singson has become a convenient target for a "pro-Erap" group.
This was the reaction from many in Ilocos Sur after a report came out alleging that the Save Ilocos Sur Alliance (SISA) had filed another complaint against Singson, Gov. Deogracias Victor Savellano and four other officials with the Office of the Ombudsman in relation to the Multiline food processing plant in Ilocos Sur.
The Ombudsman had dismissed all other cases filed earlier by this group for lack of merit.
Savellano said the Multiline plant was precisely one project which suffered a setback due to the delayed releases of Republic Act 7171 funds.
Singson said the avalanche of tirades against him was expected after he testified twice against former President Joseph Estrada, adding that SISA has become a "propaganda bureau."
There is no one else making and allegedly fabricating complaints against Singson except the group which has even adopted the acronym "SISA" allegedly to confuse the people of Ilocos Sur.
SISA is also an acronym for Simbaan Sanga-karubaan (neighborhood church or ecclesiastical community), which is the apostolic organization of each Catholic parish in Ilocos Sur barangays.
