Another suspect in Kidapawan bombing falls

COTABATO CITY – Lawmen have arrested another suspect in the Oct. 10 bombing of a public terminal in Kidapawan City which left seven people dead and 24 others wounded.

Catholic radio station dxND said the suspect, Badawi Lintuan Hussin, a barangay councilman in Rajah Muda, a secluded community in Pikit, North Cotabato, was implicated in the bombing by two other suspects arrested earlier.

Rajah Muda, which used to be the second largest enclave of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in Central Mindanao, is now a peace zone which the government is rehabilitating as part of efforts to assimilate former MILF fighters into society.

Police have theorized that the bombing was meant to intimidate the management of the Wenna bus company, which plies the Cotabato-Davao route, to shell out monthly protection money. – John Unson
