Davao cop in 3 phone-snatching raps

DAVAO CITY — Police Officer 2 Rodino Ocon of the Talomo Police Station here is now in deeper trouble as two more victims pointed to him as the snatcher of their cellular phones last August.

Ocon was first accused of snatching the cellular phone of one Noreen Lumayag while she was riding a passenger jeepney at around 1 p.m. last Sept. 6 at the Matina-Aplaya area.

Lumayag said that when she reported the incident to the Talomo police station she saw Ocon there and pointed to him as the one who snatched her cellular phone.

Lumayag positively identified Ocon in the lineup that was immediately ordered by the police station commander.

However, aside from Lumayag, two other women victims also surfaced and accused Ocon of snatching their cellular phones too in separate occasions last August.

Ocon is now facing two more robbery charges filed by Charito Pagdilao and Jovita Fontanilla aside from the theft charges lodged before Branch 2 of the Municipal Trial Court in Cities here.

Pagdilao claimed that she was walking along Mangga st. in Juna Subdivision last Aug. 5 when two motorcycle-riding men blocked her way and robbed her of her cellular phone and P50 in cash.

Fontanilla, likewise, claimed in her affidavit that Ocon robbed her of her cellular phone last August. Also in Matina. Edith Regalado
