Reds attack building of Aurora firm

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga — Suspected New People’s Army guerrillas attacked the building of a car company in Baler, Aurora over the weekend, hurling two grenades and firing successive shots, police said. No one was reported injured.

Reports said the attackers, on board a six-by-six truck, threw the grenades at the terrace of Royce Motors Co. in Barangay Suclayin and strafed the building before fleeing.

A four-man military unit deployed in the area, led by Army Sgt. Alfredo Lantano, failed to return fire because the gunmen positioned themselves in a residential area. — Ric Sapnu
