CEBU CITY There is now a Cebuano pornographic website, bringing the problem of unregulated cyberspace to local shores.
Perhaps the most unsettling photograph splashed on this website, which boasts of being the "home of the best Bisaya amateur porn," is that of four topless young Cebuano women wearing green skirts of a school uniform.
They came under the heading of being "babes" of a private university in Cebu.
The Freeman tried to reach the president of the university named but was told he was not around.
Other officials of the institution belittled the identification of the university in the porno website, saying there is no way to be certain that the topless girls are really their students.
The guidance counselor of the university also doubts the authenticity of the photograph.
"Kasiguro gyud ta nga mga estudyante gyud na sila? Basig gi-manipulate ra nang mga pictures (Are we sure that they are students? The pictures might have been manipulated)," the guidance counselor said.
Based on the date of the first entry on the websites guestbook, it appears it had been uploaded onto the Internet as early as last February.
Unlike most pornographic websites, this one is for free.
The sites author is simply identified as "pau."
The name of the website contains an offensive word.
In the United States, an estimated $10 billion annually is earned by the porn industry, $2 billion of which is spent on building pornographic websites. Freeman News Service
