A 17-year-old text aficionado was raped by her textmate, a security guard in one of the business establishments along A.S Fortuna Street, Mandaue City, last Saturday evening, after they "eyeballed" in a mall.
The victim told policemen she came to know about the man from a friend who said he was looking for a textmate.
They exchanged text messages the whole day last Saturday before deciding to see each other at the mall.
The girl told the police that after spending some time at the mall, the suspect offered to take her home by taxi. But instead of taking her home, the suspect told the taxi driver to proceed to his workplace in Mandaue city.
She was reportedly raped in the guardhouse after he threatened her with his service firearm.
The police are now looking for the suspect.
Meanwhile, two guest relation officers also fell victim to a textmate last Sunday afternoon.
Nineteen-year old Liza Wuminal lost her Nokia 5110 cellphone worth P3,000, a Chinese gold necklace worth P3,000, a pair of Singaporean earrings worth P1,500 and P300 in cash, while her friend, 18-year-old Ritchell Cabilao lost P400.
Both are residents of Sitio Sandayong, Guadalupe Cebu City.
Wuminal said that the suspect, whom she only knew as Wensel, called her through her cellphone and asked to meet her near the Guadalupe Church and later have lunch at the newly opened Jollibee fastfood outlet, near the church Sunday afternoon.
During the appointed time, Cabilao, along with her daughter, accompanied Wuminal while she waited near the Guadalupe Church for Wensel.
Wensel later arrived in a multicab and invited the two women to sit in front. When they reached the corner of M. Velez and Andres Abellana streets, Wensel suddenly halted the vehicle.
To their surprise, a man armed with a knife got on the multi cab and told them to hand over their belongings.
They were then brought to Punta Princesa where they were ordered to get off from the vehicle. The two suspects hurriedly left, leaving them to assume that the incident was deliberately planned from the start.
SPO4 Renero Agustin of the Guadalupe police said that the real identity of the suspect was Wensel Temoso of Labangon.
