Ex-Zambales gov, 2 others convicted of falsification

The Sandiganbayan sentenced yesterday former Zambales governor Amor Deloso and two others to a maximum jail term of eight years for falsification of public documents.

The anti-graft court’s fourth division, in a 14-page decision, also ordered Deloso, provincial treasurer Ireneo Onia and chief accountant Nelson Quejada to pay a P5,000 fine.

Court records showed that Deloso conspired with Onia and Quejada on Sept. 30, 1989 in declaring an "untruthful statement" involving unliquidated obligations in the infrastructure fund amounting to P333,854.48. Jose Rodel Clapano
