2 bank robbers fall

The Criminal Investigation and Detection and Group (CIDG) announced yesterday the arrest of two suspected members of the notorious robbery-kidnapping for ransom group reportedly behind the recent Metro Bank heist in Carmona, Cavite.

Chief Superintendent Nestorio Gualberto, CIDG director, identified the suspects as Ronald Ramoso and Rey Alada. The two are said to be members of the notorious Ilonggo robbery group.

Police agents under Senior Superintendent Jesus Verzosa, chief of the CIDG-Office for Businessmen’s Concerns (OBC), cornered the two suspects at their safehouse at Block 23, 28th street, Southern Heights 1, Filinvest Subdivision, Barangay Langgam, San Pedro, Laguna.

However, the leader of the group identified as Rogelio Ramoso, and a certain Jaime Villafuerte and the rest of their gangmembers were not around when policemen swooped down on their place at dawn last Wednesday.

They are now the subjects of a continued police manhunt operations not only in Metro Manila but also in Western Visayas and in Mindanao.

Ramoso carries a P400,000 reward for his capture due to his and his gangmembers’ involvement in a series of bank robberies and kidnappings in Metro Manila and nearby provinces. — Jaime Laude
