Davao City RP’s most livable city

DAVAO CITY — Asiaweek magazine has named Davao City the country’s most livable city and the 17th among Asia’s top 40 cities.

Davao City’s ranking in the newly published survey of Asiaweek was a notch higher than its 18th place in last year’s survey.

Cebu City and Metro Manila also made it to this year’s list, ranking 22nd and 25th, respectively.

The survey, based on 27 indicators, also adjudged Davao City, which has a population of over 1.2 million, as the most peaceful city in Southeast Asia.

The Asiaweek citation is the latest bestowed on this leading growth center in the South. It was recently cited for its cleanliness and greening efforts, peace and order and child-friendly programs. — Edith Regalado
