Rape raps vs Gov, counter plaint merged

The Department of Justice (DOJ) has approved the consolidation of the rape complaint which a 20-year-old coed filed against Surigao del Sur Gov. Primo Murillo and the counter-complaint of perjury and extortion the latter has lodged against her with the Manila prosecutor’s office.

A DOJ panel is investigating the rape charges, which Murillo has denied, claiming that he and the alleged victim had a "relationship."

In yesterday’s clarificatory hearing, the coed said she would file a motion for a forensic examination of a letter that her father supposedly wrote, that she and Murillo were sweethearts, and a picture showing her and the governor with a group, with a "dubious" dedication. Delon Porcalla
