Banks account ni VP Sara ipapakuha sa impeachment trial
MANILA, Philippines — Hindi pa man nag-uumpisa ang Senate Impeachment Trial, pinaplano na ng mga prosecutors ng Kamara na ipa-subpoena ang mga bank record ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
Ito ang inihayag ni Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua bilang bahagi ng kanilang istratehiya upang mas mapatibay ang mga ebidensyang hawak kapag nagsimula na ang pagdinig ng Senate Impeachment Court.
“The impeachment process allows us to complete the evidence to support our case, and that includes subpoenaing financial records if necessary through the Senate impeachment court,” ani Chua.
“The Bank Secrecy Law provides an exception for impeachment cases, and we intend to use all legal means to secure relevant documents, in addition to the evidence already present, that will aid in the trial,” giit pa nito.
Ang mga bank accounts ni Duterte, gayundin ang joint account kasama ang dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte, ay matagal ng bahagi ng imbestigasyon. Magugunita na iginiit ni dating Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV na mayroon umanong malaking halaga ng deposito ang naturang account. Kasama rin ang naturang bank account sa natalakay ng House Quad Committee.
