MG now officially distributed by The Covenant Car Company, Inc.
The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI) announced last week that it was recently appointed as the official distributor of the MG brand in the Philippines beginning Oct. 1. With this, TCCCI happily offers the motoring public more choices for top-quality products, coupled with an attractive value proposition.
“The Covenant Car Company is optimistic that Filipinos will positively respond to MG’s new global products. It is honored to be the official distributor of MG in the Philippines, and is very excited to provide the market with new options, with an aggressive model line-up and favorable offers, as it acknowledges the market’s discerning preferences,” said Atty. Alberto Arcilla, president and managing director of The Covenant Car Company, Inc. “I am sure future MG customers will appreciate the modern features and benefits of these cars, and many will be pleasantly surprised by the numerous perks these MG models have to offer.”
The British brand manufactured and released its first automobile in 1924, solidifying MG’s position as a genuine heritage brand in the automobile industry. Today, MG is the embodiment of a truly global brand. With the financial and technical backing of SAIC Motor, a top-ranked Fortune 500 company which also happens to be China’s largest auto manufacturer and exporter, and utilizing its newly inaugurated Advanced London Design Studio in Central London, MG is well-primed to take the international stage.
MG is currently experiencing a renaissance as it aggressively enters new markets with an array of distinctive and well-appointed models. TCCCI’s representation of the MG brand in the Philippines marks an exciting chapter in what is already a very colorful brand story for MG.
MG Philippines, under TCCCI, is driven to establish its position in the local market. A very comprehensive brand introduction and awareness strategy is set in place for MG to occupy a spot among the leading car manufacturers in the country.
Integral to MG’s growth in the Philippines is the introduction of all-new automobiles that will shake up the market. By the end of this year, MG will be bringing in three models: the MG RX5 compact SUV, MG 6 compact sedan, and MG ZS crossover. This model line will double by the end of 2019, bringing the total of MG products sold in the country to six. Each model will carry the heritage of the MG brand and will serve a variety of personal needs and preferences.
Aside from new models being introduced to the market, another key part of MG Philippines’ 2019 roadmap is to establish 16 independent MG dealerships that will be able to serve the need for after-sales service and new car inquiries. At the forefront of the dealer network development, a total of nine dealer areas have already been confirmed.
MG Philippines’ first crop of independent dealer partners includes Genesis Motors Corporation, Grandcars, Inc., Juno Cars, Inc., Profitfleet, Inc., Rev-Up Automobile Corporation, and Angcore Motor Company, Incorporated — all reputable and recognized organizations with a rich experience in the automotive business. MG dealerships run by the aforementioned will all be fully operational by the first semester of 2019. The specific dealer locations are currently being evaluated to ensure the optimal nationwide reach of MG.
In the meantime, MG owners will nonetheless have access to aftersales services, even as the dealer network is established, to ensure that all their needs are met. A string of independent, MG Philippines-accredited service outlets will be made easily accessible for MG owners, while a “Mobile Garage” service caravan which will be made available in January 2019 will offer regular preventive maintenance servicing in the convenience of your garage.
MG Philippines is also implementing a host of other innovative service platforms including “One-hour Max and Go,” which refers to a speedy, one-hour basic maintenance service procedure; a customer care hotline that is available 24/7; “MG HERO Services,” which offers 24/7 roadside assistance; and “Mobile Gadget,” which allows users to pair their MG to a proprietary smartphone app so that they can closely monitor their car’s running stats, and allow them to schedule a service appointment online from the convenience of their phone. All of that, and every brand-new MG car will come with a five-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty.
To reinforce its introduction into the local market, MG Philippines has designed a strategic marketing plan that targets key markets and demographics, with the goal of becoming a top-of-mind brand among Filipinos. In this last quarter of 2018, MG Philippines will have a total of six pop-up concept road shows taking place in malls around the country. The plans for 2019 pop-ups are also in place, and intend to cover a larger area of reach in the coming year. Likewise, MG Philippines has tied up with key opinion leaders and will soon reveal some of its celebrity and online influencer partners in an effort to broaden its sphere of influence.
