An event to remember

MANILA, Philippines -  The morning started out cloudy and grey but by mid afternoon, the sun was out and so were all the car lovers, addicts and enthusiasts. Car Porn Racing kicked off the year with a porn fest – a car porn fest, that is. Everyone gathered at the FTI racing grounds, dubbed as the King’s Playground because of its founder drift king, Ian King. It was hot, hot, and hot at FTI – with hot girls, hot cars and hot racers.

The event set-up started at exactly 8AM with Kim Garcia and Struan Wallace at the helm manning the tents, the sponsors, and of course the cars. There were two main events for the day, the car show and the gymkhana challenge. Five awards were given for the car show, namely People’s Choice that went to the black Civic FD owned by Bruce Montoya Tayao, Panty Dropper was the Ladies Choice which went to ladies’ man Enzo Pastor, Swag Award to Kristoffer Goce, Hot Wheels awarded to Lester Castro and finally Porn King or Best in Show to Mar Medina III.

The gymkhana challenge was a lap-timed race for challengers. It was a single class with all types, where FWD, RWD, and AWD got to try to post the fastest times. All platforms were welcome to run as it was a driver skill challenge course. The winner of the gymkhana challenge was Rick Wee from Auto Industriya, in second place was Paolo Agregado and third place went to Nino Garcia from Rockstar. Familiar names present from the racing circuit were Atoy Llave and Kevin Tayao.

Celebrities who dropped by to check out the event were Jake Cuenca, Giselle Toengi, Cliff Ho and the King’s lovely wife Joey Mead. There were lots of models including Krystle Rius and Tina Wells as well as singer/songwriter Dara David. Also there to show their support were proud parents Archie and Ling Ling King and Peter and Estee Wallace.

Major sponsor Liqui Moly was there in full force to support the event. This is the company’s corporate social responsibility program meant to keep the youth out of drugs and off the public roads. Together with Victoria Court, SoHotel, Dri Tech, Runstop, Speed Lab, INTUNEDONONLINE, Rockstar, and Wreckless Inc., they believe that if drivers are given a controlled venue to race in, the number of accidents due to public street racing can be lowered.
