MANILA, Philippines — Sinimulan nang busisiin ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang lahat ng naka pending na petisyon ng mga pampasaherong sasakyan para sa pagtaas ng pasahe dulot ng matinding epekto sa sektor nang ligguhang taas presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo.

Ito ayon kay LTFRB Chairperson Vigor Mendoza ay upang makagawa na ang Board ng kaukulang hakbang para sa posibleng fare adjustments sa mga pampasaherong jeep, passenger buses, utility van express, taxis, at motorcycle taxis.

“We are already reviewing and discussing all the pending petitions for fare hike and as per instruction by Secretary Banoy, we have to come up with the recommendation in the soonest possible time,” sabi ni Mendoza .

Partikular na pinag aaralan ng LTFRB ang fare hike petition ng PISTON na maitaas ang mi­nimum pasahe sa jeep ng P10. Kung aparubahan ito, aabutin ng P23 ang minimum fare sa jeep. Sa ngayon ay nasa P13 ang minimum fare sa jeep.

Bukod dito, sinusuri na rin ng LTFRB ang fare hike petitions ng iba pang transport group tulad ng ­Metro Comet Transport Service Cooperative, UV Express National Alliance of the Philippines, United Transportation Coalition of the Philippines at Manibela dahil sa oil price hike.
