DPWH reshuffles execs as retirement wave continues

MANILA, Philippines — Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered a fresh round of reassignments at the bureau, regional and district engineering office levels of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to fill vacancies created by the continuing retirement of senior officials.
In Northern Mindanao, Dizon designated former assistant regional director of DPWH Region 10 Virgie Nayve as officer-in-charge regional director, replacing engineer Lilibeth Aparecio, who has retired from government service.
To fill the vacancy left by Nayve, Dizon appointed engineer Jehela Roxas, former district engineer of the Eastern Samar District Engineering Office, as OIC assistant regional director of Region 10.
The retirement wave has also affected the DPWH Bureau of Quality and Safety.
In an order issued on June 10, Dizon named engineer Maria Joanna Pajarillo as OIC assistant director of the bureau, replacing Mary Ann Suansing, who retired from the service.
Suansing’s retirement, along with those of other senior division chiefs, prompted a series of technical promotions within the bureau.
On June 18, Dizon designated engineer Bobby Fodulla as OIC chief of the Quality Systems Analysis Division, while engineer Dionisio Pascua Jr. was named OIC chief of the Road Safety Program Division, succeeding engineer Marites Reyes, who had also retired.
At the district level, Dizon appointed Rochel Hermano as OIC district engineer of the Palawan 2nd District Engineering Office in the Mimaropa region, taking over the post vacated by engineer Noel Fuentebella following his retirement.
