ACEN, ACMobility team up for EV charging stations

MANILA, Philippines — ACEN Corp. has teamed up with ACMobility to accelerate the rollout of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations powered entirely by renewable energy.
The partnership between the Ayala companies will enable commercial and industrial customers of ACEN RES to install EV charging facilities within their properties using electricity sourced from ACEN’s portfolio.
Charging stations that are made accessible to the public will be integrated into ACMobility’s charging network via the Evro app, allowing EV drivers to easily locate, access and pay for services.
The platform also streamlines charging station operations through automated billing and payment reconciliation, improving efficiency and simplifying management for host facilities.
“Electric mobility delivers even greater value when powered by clean energy. Together with ACEN RES, we are enabling businesses to cut emissions by integrating renewable supply with EV charging,” ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala said.
ACEN RES, the Ayala Group’s retail electricity supply arm, is the leading green energy retailer, accounting for around 65 percent of the market.
ACMobility, on the other hand, currently operates more than 200 EV charging hubs across the country.
“The convergence of clean energy and electric mobility is essential to the Philippines’ energy transition,” ACEN president and CEO Eric Francia said.
“Through this partnership, we are making it easier for businesses to adopt renewable energy and EV charging solutions, helping accelerate decarbonization across both operations and transport,” Francia said.
This collaboration comes at a time when businesses and consumers are increasingly turning to green mobility solutions, driven by rising fuel costs amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
According to the International Energy Agency, EVs could account for around 45 percent of car sales in the Philippines by 2035, even as affordability challenges continue to slow wider adoption.
To further attract more EV manufacturers, the government is preparing an EV Incentive Strategy aimed at boosting investment and accelerating industry growth.
