MANILA, Philippines — Aabot sa 5.3 milyong pasahero ang nakinabang sa libreng sakay na alok ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Quezon City.

Ayon kay Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, nagsimula ang libreng sakay noong Disyembre 7, 2020.

May ruta aniya ang libreng sakay sa Quezon City Hall hanggang Cubao; Route 2: Quezon City Hall hanggang LITEX; Route 3: Welcome Rotonda hanggang Aurora Blvd./Katipunan; Route 4: Quezon City Hall hanggang Gen. Luis; Route 5: Quezon City Hall hanggang Mindanao Avenue via Visayas Ave.; Route 6: Quezon City Hall hanggang Gilmore; Route 7: Quezon City Hall hanggang Ortigas Avenue Extension; at Route 8: Quezon City Hall hanggang Muñoz.

Ayon kay Belmonte, nagsisimula ang libreng sakay ng 6:00 ng umaga hanggang 9:00 ng gabi.

“This program was launched to address the need for a reliable, efficient and safe means of transportation during the pandemic especially during the times when public transportation is unavailable or limited. The program enables our QCitizens to save a lot on transportation expenses,” pahayag ni Belmonte.

Hinihikayat ni Belmonte ang mga pasahero na tangkilikin ang libreng sakay lalo’t tumataas ang presyo ng produktong petrolyo.

“Sobrang mahal na ng gasolina at kasunod na rin niyan ang pagmahal ng mga bilihin. Kailangan na­ting magtipid kaya mala­king bagay na yung malilibre mo sa pamasahe, maipambili mo na ng bigas,” pahayag ni Belmonte.
