Pagtatatag ng Quezon City University, prayoridad ni Joy Belmonte
MANILA, Philippines — Nangako si Quezon City Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte na uunahin niya ang pagpapabuti sa kalidad ng edukasyon sa lungsod sa oras na maluklok siya bilang alkalde, sa pamamagitan ng pagtatatag sa sariling unibersidad ng lungsod.
“If elected, in my first term of administration, I aim to establish the Quezon City University for our objective to improve the quality of education we offer to our students. In accordance with the Free Education Act, we will strive to give the students a free and better quality of education,” ani Belmonte.
Binanggit ni Belmonte na natapos na ng Quezon City Council ang ordinansang magtatatag sa nasabing unibersidad na naglalaman ng guidelines at admission policies nito.
“We already have a landmark legislation for this through the initiative of the 20th City Council which we have consulted to CHED (Commission on Higher Education) and all the stakeholders. This will be our priority project in my first term of administration if we will be elected as mayor,” dagdag ni Belmonte.
Sa ilalim ng ordinansa, papalitan ang kasalukuyang Quezon City Polytechnic University (QCPU) ng Quezon City University kasabay ng pagpapabuti sa mga programa at kurso nito bilang suporta sa layunin at polisiya ng pamahalaan na mabigyan ng mas mataas na kalidad ng edukasyon ang mga mag-aaral.
