MANILA, Philippines - A policeman was robbed while waiting for his car as it was being cleaned at a car wash in Caloocan City Thursday morning.
Senior Police Officer 4 Leo Letrodo, assigned at the Highway Patrol Group in Camp Crame, told investigators he was waiting in front of 1 Spec Car Wash at around 9 a.m. when two men drove up on a motorcycle and robbed him using a .45 caliber pistol.
Letrodo reportedly lost P26,000 and $500, a gold bracelet, mobile phones, ATM cards, his car key and important documents.
He said he was lucky he left his gun in his car “because he could have drawn it and engaged the robbers.”
Chief Inspector Ilustre Mendoza, Caloocan investigation division chief, said Letrodo failed to identify the robbers because they were both wearing helmets.
