MANILA, Philippines - Those who plan to go to travel to the provinces for Undas should not leave their houses, especially in posh subdivisions, unattended, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said yesterday.
NCRPO director Chief Superintendent Joel Pagdilao said those with travel plans should coordinate with their neighbors or the subdivision security guards so burglars cannot strike.
He also directed police officers in Metro Manila to increase foot and mobile patrols in areas where burglars had struck in past All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day celebrations.
The NCRPO will also secure 98 cemeteries in Metro Manila during the two-day Undas celebration.
Police officers will frisk all cemetery visitors for banned items such as firearms, deadly weapons, pointed objects, liquor and sound systems.
“We will only allow bottled water and containers containing juices and drinks but totally no intoxicating liquor,” Pagdilao said.
