MANILA, Philippines - The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) awarded the Good Financial Housekeeping component of the Seal of Good Local Governance to Muntinlupa City for its performance last year.
The criteria for the award are the 2013 Commission on Audit opinion and the city government’s compliance with the DILG’s 1st Quarter Full Disclosure Policy Posting in 3 Conspicuous Places. The city government passed the assessment on Feb. 25.
Mayor Jaime Fresnedi has committed to making the city government’s transactions transparent and make officials and employees accountable.
Under his administration, the city government’s operations are posted on bulletin boards in conspicuous areas in the city. The city hall alone has three of these bulletin boards.
One of the city government’s undertakings is to be re-certified as having met international management standards.
Other recipients of the award for good financial management are the cities of Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Navotas, Pasig, San Juan and Valenzuela and the municipality of Pateros.
