MANILA, Philippines - An 81-year-old man was run over by a train as he was crossing the Philippine National Railways track in Sta. Mesa, Manila yesterday morning.
Alberto Cadalo was reportedly a barangay councilman, according to a report by ABS-CBN.
The incident happened at around 9:22 a.m. but was reported to the Manila Police District (MPD) traffic investigation unit about 30 minutes later, according to Police Officer 3 Roberto Lorenzo.
The train’s driver, Jack Miles Pacio, was briefly detained at the MPD.
