Konstruksyon ng Torre de Manila ipinatigil ng NCCA
MANILA, Philippines — Naglabas ng cease-and-desist order ang National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) laban sa condominium building na pinaniniwalaang nakasisira sa tanawin ng rebulto ni Rizal sa Maynila.
Nilagdaan ni NCCA Chair Felipe de Leon Jr. ang kautusan kung saan ipinatutupad ito sa mga law enforcement agencies.
Naniniwala ang NCCA na lumalabag ang pagpapagawa ng 49-storey building sa Republic Act 10066 o an act providing for the protection and conservation of the national cultural heritage, strengthening the national commission for culture and the arts (ncca) and its affiliated cultural agencies, and for other purposes.
"The construction of the condominium tower destroys or significantly alters the landscape of the Monument and the park," nakasaad sa kautusan.
Sinabi pa ng NCCA na isang “criminal offense” ang hindi pagsunod sa kautusan.
