MANILA, Philippines - Two policemen – a father and his son – will face criminal charges for gunning down a real estate agent who shot at them in Tondo, Manila yesterday.
It has yet to be established who between Senior Police Officer 3 Rolando Doroja and Police Officer 2 Percival Doroja, both from the Pritil police office, shot Arwin Rosario, 26.
As of yesterday afternoon, the two policemen have yet to report to the Manila Police District (MPD) homicide section. Following police protocol, homicide charges would be filed against the one who killed Rosario.
The Dorojas were talking to people along Velasquez and Baltazar streets when Rosario, accompanied by his friend Jerome Catindig, attacked them.
Rosario “alighted (from a motorcycle) without any words and provocation, pulled out a .45 caliber (pistol) from his waist and fired at the policemen. A gun fight ensued,” read a report by Superintendent Redentor Ulsano, chief of MPD Station 1.
The incident was caught by a surveillance camera installed in Barangay 81.
