Caloocan offers reward for pandesal vendor’s mugger
MANILA, Philippines - There is a P50,000 reward to anyone who can provide information that would lead to the capture of the man who robbed a 12-year-old pandesal vendor last week, Caloocan City Mayor Oscar Malapitan said yesterday.
Netizens were up in arms after a video of the vendor, crying and shaking in fear after being robbed, went viral.
The Caloocan police released yesterday footage taken by a surveillance camera at a shop near where the boy was robbed. The footage showed the mugger, a man between 18 and 20 years old, walking away from the crime scene.
The vendor identified the man on the surveillance footage as the one who robbed him at knifepoint and took away the P200 he earned from selling pandesal for the day.
