Picache ma’s helper tagged in slay

MANILA, Philippines - The male helper of actress Cherry Pie Picache’s mother has been tagged in the killing of the elderly woman.

Michael “Dy” Flores had gone missing since the killing of Zenaida Sison on Sept. 19, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Superintendent Richard Albano said yesterday.

Albano said Flores, who is in his late 20s, is now the subject of a manhunt.

Chief Inspector Rodel Marcelo, head of the QCPD’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said Flores owned the pair of shorts and a shirt left behind at the crime scene.

Marcelo said that Flores was seen on surveillance videos leaving the area at the time of the killing.

The QCPD and the National Bureau of Investigation held a conference yesterday to discuss details of the case.

The 75-year-old Sison, a resident of Barangay Paligsahan, sustained several stab wounds and may have been hit on the head with a chunk of wood.

Police investigators believe Sison’s death was a case of robbery-homicide after some pieces of jewelry were reported missing from the victim’s house.
